Poem 39

Cheers to a friend
Whose support
Is a constant source
Of encouragement
Especially when
Encouragement is lacking

Cheers to an artist
Whose unflinching competence
And bare knuckle critiques
Forces the rest of us
To stay on top of our game

And just cheers to
A wonderful person
You can be yourself around
Which is hard to find
In this crazy world of bits
And status seeking
And clout chasing

The real ones
Make you feel like a real one
Never forget that
